Book Giveaways to try outside of GoodReads

Authors there are more ways to use your ARC to get reviews than you may think.

If you were looking for an alternative to GoodReads or simply something to do in addition, then check these out. Some services and communities are for novels only and some genres may be more effective than others.

1. Book sirens: Do this first, and in the first 6
months because they don’t let you use
them for your book after that amount of
time has passed.

2. Librarything: Free! Same deal. Has to
be in the first few months.

3. Voracious readers: This is only free for your first book for about 20 arc readers. Great place
starting, but make sure your book is up to
par as again you can only use them for free
once, so don’t submit with a weak cover.

4. Hidden Gems: Apply now, most have about
a year wait list (mine was for fantasy) also
keep your expectations low depending on
your category. My cover is for a dark
fantasy book, and I think I only received 4
ARC readers. They told me they don’t really
have a base for that last time I used it

5. Netgalley: Make sure you use a co-op so
you can get your book up for cheap. Also,
only go for 1 month, not 3 or longer, as you
get diminishing returns after that period, so
the cost isn’t worth it.
